After a few weeks of being in somewhat of a “slump”, I am feeling back to myself, very energized, and excited to be healthy! I thought it would be a good idea to try and post every day or two this week in order to get back into the swing of blogging and really re-commit to tracking my daily progress.
And, by golly, it’s about time I give some updates! Starting with….
WEIGHT (the most dreaded topic!): 178 lb. I’m up a few pounds from mid-May, but I’m not freaking out over it. It happened for a reason, and it’s coming off now (I was actually up a few more pounds than this but took them off in the last week and a half). The goal is to be at 170 by July 15!
MOOD: Happy. Honestly. I just feel so happy today. I have so much to be thankful for. I’ve been able to spend ample time with a lifelong friend of mine who just moved back to Vancouver. He always inspires me to BE. To enjoy each each moment. That’s what I’m aiming for this week. And…I got to gmail chat with SAWB, who I’ve been missing as she’s away in Eastern Europe right now!!
FOOD: Breakfast — muesli with milk and a cup of coffee with half and half. Lunch — one hardboiled egg, mixed raw veggies, sweet and salty trail mix bar (which was waaaaay too sweet and I probably won’t try them again). Dinner will be a Tuscan all-bean chili (previously posted) with salad. Snacks — apple (so far). I’ll have to update this at the END of the day. Ah well.
EXERCISE: I’m going to the gym to do cardio today with my good friend, Jax. I have to admit, part of my increased motivation for going is due to the fact I saw the most BEAUTIFUL MAN IN THE WORLD in there on Sunday afternoon. I don’t usually get all worked up over hot guys, but I”m telling you, I had to draw in breath when I walked into the gym and saw him last Sunday! It was just the two of us. You have no idea the fantasies my mind was conjuring while I spent 35 min on the elliptical just a few feet away from him. And…I’ll spare you the details. 😉
He was playing music from his iPod (all great stuff) and singing harmony along with each song. So so cute! He had a great voice too.
But seriously now, the gym at work is great! Fabulous! Amazing! All top-of-the-line equipment, and there are even TVs with full cable at each machine. And the bathroom..wow! It’s like a spa. The showers are so clean and big! Last week I bought an extra set of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, and deodorant specifically to keep at work so I can always have a shower there when I need to. It will save money on my hydro bill, and quite simply after a long sweaty cardio workout there’s nothing more refreshing than a long hot shower…with the most BEAUTIFUL MAN IN THE WORLD. Whoa. Did I just type that out loud??
Oh, and aside from working out at my work gym, I am practicing yoga three to four times a week at YYoga. I signed up for 6 months! That’s right SIX MONTHS. I am quite certain it is going to be the element in this whole health and wellness scenario, that will really change my body the most. Yoga is 100% amazingness. I am going to post more about it when I’ve settled into my practice a bit more. End of the summer I think. 🙂
Okay. That’s my update for today. Things are back on track. I’m still losing weight. I’m happy and motivated and grateful — all the right ingredients for change and forward progress.
